Civil Society News Network (CSNN) has been recognised by the State of the African Diaspora (SOAD) as an Accredited Media Cooperation Partner under the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 11 February 2026. This status confirms CSNN’s role in the responsible dissemination, analytical coverage and amplification of information concerning SOAD’s initiatives within the framework of civil society dialogue and international communication.

The recognition establishes a cooperation framework built around two core pillars: strategic information and media and communication, including the publication and distribution of editorial and informational content through CSNN’s international network. A central objective is to reinforce the visibility of African diaspora perspectives in global civil society discourse — including debates and processes relevant to the United Nations ecosystem and ECOSOC-related civil society engagement.

The diaspora as a stakeholder in international dialogue

Across contemporary governance and development discussions, diaspora communities increasingly operate as stakeholders bridging regions, institutions and societies. This role extends beyond representation: it includes the need for reliable information, context, analysis, and responsible public communication to support informed engagement on social development, human rights, resilience, education, innovation and international cooperation.

CSNN as an analytical civil society media platform

CSNN is an international civil society–oriented media and information network dedicated to editorial analysis, public communication and the dissemination of reliable information on social development, civil society and international cooperation. Rather than competing in a breaking-news cycle, CSNN focuses on analytical and institutional interpretation designed for decision-makers, expert communities, NGOs and public partners.

Recognition under the SOAD framework strengthens this positioning by establishing an accredited cooperation status for responsible editorial coverage that supports dialogue, increases transparency and enhances public understanding of institutional initiatives and diaspora-related programs.

Cooperation scope: information, communication, visibility

  • Identification, analysis and contextualisation of issues relevant to the African diaspora within global civil society;
  • Publication, dissemination and amplification of editorial and informational content through CSNN channels;
  • International civil society visibility and dialogue, including within UN-relevant forums, processes and debates;
  • Responsible public communication aligned with CSNN’s mandate, focusing on analytical, non-promotional and non-political coverage.

Diplomatic facilitation and institutional coordination

The establishment of the Memorandum framework was facilitated through structured diplomatic coordination led by Mr. Emanuele Mosca, Special Ambassador for Legal & Strategic Affairs – CSNN.

Acting within his institutional mandate, Ambassador Mosca supported the legal and strategic alignment of the cooperation parameters, reinforcing principles of responsible communication, institutional clarity and international dialogue standards.

This diplomatic facilitation underscores the importance of structured engagement between civil society media institutions and diaspora-oriented international entities, and supports a professional framework for public communication and analytical coverage.

Professional standards: responsibility and independence

The cooperation is grounded in professional institutional communication standards. CSNN’s coverage remains analytical and informational, with emphasis on context, precision and neutrality. The objective is to support civil society dialogue and international communication through the quality of information, rather than promotional messaging.

Relevance for the global civil society ecosystem

Practically, this recognition signals that diaspora-related initiatives, partnerships and programs associated with SOAD will be covered and contextualised within the international information space through a structured, professional editorial approach. The aim is to strengthen informed public understanding and civil society engagement across regions.

CSNN will continue to publish relevant materials in formats consistent with its mission: responsible, analytical and grounded in reliable sources and transparent context.
