CSNN and Media Education Centre Sign Memorandum of Understanding. A New Chapter of Cooperation between Poland, Serbia and Civil Society
Civil Society News Network — CSNN and Media Education Centre — MEC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, opening a new stage of cooperation in media education, digital literacy, responsible public communication, civic dialogue and human-centred technology.
The MoU creates a media and civic bridge connecting Poland, Serbia and the Western Balkans through education, digital resilience, public responsibility and international dialogue.
A Framework for Public Responsibility
The agreement was signed on 30 June 2026 between Civil Society News Network — CSNN, represented by Dawid Szabłowski, Founder & Global Editor-in-Chief of CSNN, and Media Education Centre — MEC, represented by Miomir Rajčević, President of Media Education Centre.
The document establishes long-term framework relations between Poland, Serbia, the Western Balkans region and international partners. Its significance extends beyond a single project or event. The MoU creates a platform for action in areas that today determine the quality of public information, social resilience, digital culture and conscious civic participation.
Strategic Partnership for Media Education and Digital Resilience
At the centre of the agreement are three strategic areas: media education, digital resilience and the responsible use of technology in public life.
In practical terms, this creates the possibility of developing joint publications, analyses, interviews, expert commentaries, reports, debates, panels, educational events, youth initiatives, academic projects and international activities.
Media Education
Strengthening public understanding of information, journalism, communication standards and civic responsibility.
Digital Resilience
Supporting digital literacy, awareness of disinformation risks and responsible participation in the digital environment.
Responsible Technology
Opening space for dialogue on human-centred AI, digital rights, AI governance and the public interest.
CSNN and MEC will be able to cooperate in the areas of media literacy, digital literacy, countering disinformation, freedom of expression, digital rights, human-centred artificial intelligence, AI governance and strengthening the role of civil society in the debate on the future of Europe.
For CSNN, signing the Memorandum of Understanding with Media Education Centre is another stage in building an international information and analytical network that connects media, civic diplomacy, human rights, education, technology and public responsibility.
For MEC, the agreement with CSNN strengthens the space for cooperation with a media and analytical partner operating internationally, with particular focus on Poland, Central and Eastern Europe, and relations with the Western Balkans region.

Media Education Centre, formally also known as Medijski Edukativni Centar, holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council — UN ECOSOC.
According to the official letter of the United Nations NGO Branch dated 18 June 2019, the Economic and Social Council, at its Coordination and Management Meeting of 6 June 2019, adopted the recommendation of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations to grant special consultative status to Medijski Edukativni Centar.
This status confirms the international significance of MEC in the fields of education, communication and civic dialogue.
From All Digital Summit 2026 to a Broader Architecture of Cooperation
The relationship between CSNN and MEC developed in the context of earlier dialogue concerning the All Digital Summit 2026 in Belgrade — an event dedicated to digital transformation, technological competences, education, responsible use of digital tools and the future of European societies in the age of artificial intelligence.
The signed Memorandum of Understanding elevates this relationship to the level of long-term institutional cooperation. It opens the way for actions that are not limited to a single event, but may include media, educational, social, technological and international projects.
