A tragic incident was reported in Bakhte Wala Mohalla, on Allama Iqbal Road in Gujranwala, where a young man lost his life after an alleged electrocution involving electricity infrastructure in the vicinity of a transformer identified locally with WAPDA/GEPCO.
According to information supplied with the field material, the victim had been married only seven months earlier. A period that should have marked the beginning of a new family life was transformed within moments into profound grief.
Local residents alleged negligence by GEPCO/WAPDA and claimed that this was not the first fatal incident connected to the same transformer, stating that a child had previously died there. Those allegations require urgent examination by the competent authorities.
